Important note: We are collectors, not dealers. We thus rarely
sell any cards. We used to trade a lot - but recently tend to buy boxes
when sets are released, and buy autos etc. on eBay. So, except in very
rare cases when there might be a selling price listed next to an item,
please don't email us asking us what our selling prices are, because
we're simply not selling. Thanks.
Note: []'s on a card denote a trade/purchase has been agreed to, but cards
not yet sent/received.

In August 1998, Fleer/Skybox announced the planned release of the "Babylon 5
Season Five" set.
The announced release date is November 25, 1998.
But on 11/7/1998 I heard from Galaxy's Edge that Skybox
has postponed the release until December 31st :-(
And Potomac Distribution
is now listing the expected release date as 1/4/1999.
And on 12/5/98 I heard that it's been delayed again, until 1/20/99 now.
There are 9 cards per pack, and 36 packs per box.
There was a promo card released at the San
Diego Con. The text on it reads:
The SAGA CONTINUES...
There's a whole world beyond this videotape. The Babylon 5 Season Five
Trading Card Set, including 1 autograph card in every box, is coming soon to
a card dealer near you.
NOVEMBER 1998
And then another promo was released in
about early November.
Apparently there will be one autograph per box.
But Uncomyn Gifts quotes Diamond
Comics as saying "collectors can expect to find one autographed card per box
from one of 20 different characters, including Patricia Tallman (Lyta
Alexander), Caitlin Brown (Na'Toth), and Jeffrey Willerth (Ambassador Kosh).

"The Complete Babylon 5" is scheduled to be released May 8, 2002. (Was
originally March 27, but has been slipping.)
It's by a different publisher than previous B5 trading card sets:
SciFiHobby.com, part of Rittenhouse
Archives.
I have pre-ordered 5 boxes (from Potomac Distribution), which
arrived on May 14th, 2002. I'd also ordered a Binder, direct from
Rittenhouse - and it also arrived on May 14th.
There are 9 cards per pack, and 40 packs per box. And only 6000
numbered boxes are going to be released (which is 500 cases, since there
are 12 boxes per case.)
It seems that some packs might actually have fewer than 9 cards - if
they randomly contain a very-thick Costume card. But I'm not 100% sure
of this.
According to a Usenet post in early January 2002, there will be card(s)
from the Legends of the Rangers pilot too:
1. Babylon 5, The Complete (trading cards). We just got approval to
include cards from the upcoming SCI FI Channel special airing later this
month ("Legend of the Rangers"). More details will be provided as we
have them, but this is very exciting news and certainly gives this
comprehensive series of cards an even more well-rounded flavor. Many
thanks to Warner Bros. for their cooperation with this one!
These Rangers cards were included as box-toppers.
Image of card info on sell
sheet (although some details don't seem to match current
information).
Also, the odds listed on the checklist cards, and the odds listed on the
bottom of the card boxes, are very different from each other. The
checklist seems to be far more accurate, but still not quite right.
Odds | Checklist | Bottom of Box | My actual odds |
CC | 1:4 | 1:20 | 1:3.7 |
Women | 1:10 | 1:5 | 1:8 |
Movie | 1:8 | not listed | 1:7.4 |
Costume | 1:40 | 1:40 | 1:40 |
Auto | 1:20 | 1:20 | 1:20 (including Double) |
Double Auto | 500 | 1:480 | lucky! |
SketchaFEX | 1:480 | 1:480 | none |
According to Rittenhouse/ScifiHobby the breakdown of Costume
cards is not even. (Even would be of 1200 each, being 6000 boxes
divided by 5 in-pack Costume cards. The C6 card was with the binder.)
C1 - Captain John Sheridan: 1275
C2 - Citizen G'Kar: 1275; 2 versions (Brown Rough; Thin Gauze)
C3 - Ambassador Londo Mollari: 900
C4 - Michael Garabaldi: 1275
C5 - Dr. Franklin: 1275
C6 - Commander Susan Ivanova: 1500; 3 versions (Blue Rough; Brown Leather; Blue Silky)
The C3/Londo card is being handled among collectors as having 3
different versions/variants too: Gold on Black, Black on Gold, Black.
And the 3 C6/Ivanova types are also known as "Cloth", "Leather", and
"Nylon".

Here is information gathered from the various card wholesalers/retailers on
the net, and from Scrye and Gamer magazines:
The "Deluxe Edition" release is mostly a rerelease of the Premier set, but
with typos fixed, some artwork changed, and some card text cleaned up to
put it in line with various rulings and errata. Also, the "unique" cards
were not included, and some Fixed card (Starter Commons) were also included.
A list of the changes has been made
available.
It was initially due out in late August 1998.
However, according to a post from John Hart of Precedence on 8/26/1998:
We are hoping to have some Great
War cards available for Vorcon (Oct 16-18, the world championships),
but the release date is currently pegged for November 1. Deluxe is
fairly flexible, but we're aiming at October 1 at this point.
And it was finally actually released on 11/10/1998.
The cards will be distinguishable from Premier Edition cards by the
"fine print" line at the bottom of the card: They say "Deluxe Edition" and
have a 1998 copyright date (Premier was © 1997).
It has a different autographed card to the Premiere release: a Claudia
Christian autographed Ivanova. (As always, I was not lucky enough to pull
one in my 4 boxes, so I'm in the market for one.)
Distribution: 8 cards (1F, 1R, 2U, 4C) per pack, 24 packs per box, 1
bonus card ("Rogue Telepath" Great War Promo) per box.
I ordered and received 4 boxes from (from Potomac Distribution).

A full "Great War" release, Starters and Boosters.
Initially announced to be released at the end of September.
The Boosters were released on approximately 12/12/98.
The Starters are currently targetted for about 12/31/98.
The cards contain the text "The Great War" on the left side of the copyright
line on the bottom of the card.
- Official pre-release text read: "350 cards: 100 Rares, 100 Uncommons,
100 Commons, 50 Fixed"
- However, in a posting to rec.games.trading-cards.misc on 8/12/1998, John
Hart of Precedence wrote:
There will be 100 fixed cards, but some of them will be reprints of
each other and/or fixed cards from Premier.
The Homeworld deck may actually be 60 fixed cards, come to think of
it. There will likely be 100 of each R,U,C, as well.
As you can tell, there's still some flex in it.
- Two new "race" decks, from the starter boxes: "Home Factions" and
"Non-Aligned Worlds".
- Autograph card signed by Peter Jurasik.
- Boosters: 10 cards per pack, 20 packs per box, 1 bonus card per box.
- Starters: 60 cards per deck, 6 decks per box, (3 each of "Home Factions"
and "Non-Aligned Worlds").
I received my order of 4 Booster boxes
from Potomac Distribution.
I should receive my 1 Starter box in mid January 1999, along with my Season5
trading cards.

Well, even though they are not Trading Cards, they are numbered Babylon 5
collectibles, so I'm listing them here.
These are Micro Machines made
by Galoob, in 1995 and 1996. Each pack has 3 ships in it. There were
two releases: first release (1995) consisted of sets 1 to 4 (each with
images of all the ships on all 4 sets on the back), and the second release (1996)
consisted of sets 1 to 6 (but possibly not 2 and 3??) (and each showed all 6
sets on the back).
I have been informed that the second release in Europe definitely included
all 6 sets.
(MOC = Mint on Card; MOMC = Mint on Mint Card)
There were also some single-pack ships released, but I have never seen any.
