Only one of the following is true about a particular hand of cards:
-
There is a King in the hand or there is an Ace in the hand, or both.
- There is a Queen in the hand or there is an Ace in the hand, or both.
- There is a Jack in the hand or there is a 10 in the hand, or both.
Question: Is it possible that there is an Ace in the hand?
Did you think that it is possible that there is an Ace in the hand?
Why?
(Could it be because you constructed this mental model?:
-
King
Ace
King Ace
-
Queen
Ace
Queen Ace
-
Jack
10
Jack 10
Given these 9 mental models of the situation,
it certainly seems possible that there is an Ace in the hand,
because there is an Ace in the hand in 4 of the 9 models.)
