this page is mainly meant for the windows install, however following if for other operating systems is possible
Windows
- Download java JDK Currently Version: (jdk-6u16) Install it Direct Link HERE.
- Download Eclipse (Ganymede) and unzip it to where you would like it to live. There is no "installer" for eclipse, its just an runnable program, put a shortcut to the executable wherever you can remember where it is. ftp://ftp.cse.buffalo.edu/pub/Eclipse/technology/epp/downloads/release/ganymede/SR2/
- Install Plugins go to help in the menu bar of eclipse, then click software updates, choose the available software tab, choose the add site button on the right, and put in the following URLs
(complete twice once for each site) http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/faculty/alphonce/green/ http://web-cat.cs.vt.edu/eclipse/ and select the checkboxes for green update site and web-cat entry then click install on the top right, and follow the prompts to install it {GO TO NEXT STEP} (derived from here get plugins from bottom of page, just the 2 URLs This is to be installed through adding a new update site, from inside eclipse, under about then search for updates then check the boxes when you add this site. See here http://wiki.eclipse.org/FAQ_How_do_I_update_Eclipse%3F but its under the add site and repeat for both sites on the page.)
- download and install this http://aleron.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/drjava/drjava-eclipse-20090115-r4708.zip or use DIRECT LINK HERE and add the contants into the plugins directory of your eclipse install

- the install should now be working. It will have to be customized with your repositeries, see lab 1 Start with "Import preferences file".
- {YOUR DONE NOW} use Filezilla or other FTP client to ftp.cse.buffalo.edu to transfer your files back and forth if necessary. This tutorial does not cover that, only working from home not transfering files. However you will want to transfer your workspace. PuTTY is another useful program.
