Emacs/JDE/CSE115 Classlibs Install Page

The 115Home.exe file is a self-extracting zip file that contains emacs version 20.7, JDE and the CSE115, cs015, and NGP class libraries. It does not include Java SDK which is needed. You should be using SDK1.3 (see assumptions below). The SDK1.3 is provided on the TechTools CD and on Sun's Website.

1. Run the 115Home.exe file.
   • If using the CD, insertion should cause the file to extract.
   • Otherwise double-click My Computer
     • Double-click your CD-ROM drive
     • Double-click 115Home.exe
   • If using the downloaded file, simple change to the directory in which you saved it, and double-click on 115Home.exe.
   • Do not change the drive or directory! You must install it into C:.
2. Complete the emacs install.
   • Double-click My Computer
   • Double-click C:
   • Double-click the emacs-20.7 folder
   • Double-click the bin folder.
   • Double-click the addpm program.

Installed Files

Congratulations! Emacs is now installed in C:\emacs-20.7, JDE and its support files are now in C:\emacs-20.7\site-lisp and the CSE115 Classlibs are now in C:\Work\115\Classlibs. A .emacs file also exists in C:\.

Assumptions

The setup assumes you have installed Java SDK 1.3 in C:\JDK1.3 and its documentation files in C:\JDK1.3\Docs.
