Course Organization
The course will be primarily an on-line course. The discussion will
be held on-line.
Each student wil be assigned to a small group, and much of the course work
will be done through the small groups.
When readings are assigned, each group will prepare a critique of the paper
which will include an analysis of the significance of the results and a
list of further questions raised by the work. Groups will use an on-line
forum for preparing their critique. Once completed, the group will post their
critique to the whole class, will read the critiques of the other groups, and
prepare a second critique based on the work of the other groups. All critiques
will be limited to 500 words, so being concise will be essential.
Students will be graded on their participation in the small groups and on their
participation in class discussions.
Students will also participate in researching the topics through locating and reporting on additonal papers, reports and studies in the field.
