Project Synopsis:
The goal of this project is to give those people without the ability to speak, a voice. For the handicapped/disabled who have limited motor skills and have difficulty with vocal communication, this project allows for the creation of sentences, phrases and speeches that can be spoken with the push of a button.
Get Involved:
Contact Professor Kris Schinder or Professor Mike Buckley. Meetings are held every Wednesday at 12:00.
Support:
If there is anyway you would like to support us, we would greatly appreciate your interest. Please contact either Mike Buckley or Kris Schindler to learn how you can have a big part in the development and progress of the UB Talker.
Progress:
- Late summer 2003 - Much publicity has been given to the Talker including an article in The Reporter, The Buffalo News, and on the UB Homepage.

David was also able to say "Good evening." to some people on an elevator.
- May 2003 - UB Tech group members finish a course in which they created the child version of the Talker, and incorperate their class project into the UB Technology Group for further testing, useage, and expantion.
