I'm trying an experiment for those of you who may have been having
trouble accessing the newsgroup.

I will try to keep a more-or-less up-to-date newsgroup archive, in
two different formats.

Go to:	http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/~rapaport/740/S04/News/

You may see 3 kinds of files there:

1. Files beginning with "#"; ignore them.

2. Files beginning with "message-2004-"; these are the newsgroup
messages in chronological order. Clicking on one will allow you to
read it, though not to reply to it.

3. The file "740-news-archive". This file currently contains all
messages posted so far. Clicking on it will allow you to read them
all in a single file. This file is also in "mail" format, which
means that you *may* be able to use your mail reader to read it, but
I have no idea how to tell you how to do that, since, among many
other things, it depends on what mail reader you use.

I will try to keep this file up to date, but cannot promise it. I
will, however, try to keep the individual messages up to date.
