Abstract

The abstract sets forth two goals. They are:

1. Represent a science passage using SNePS that contains an unknown word (keeping in mind the representation is to help further the CVA algorithim).

2. Speculate on how the meaning of the unknown word can be acquired through context. This requires looking at the SNePS' network representation of the passage and the background knowledge and "describing how we can find and deduce pertinent information (from context) to help us dervie a more accurate hypothesis of the meaning of the unknown word."
