Presentation Overview : A New Representation of the Proliferate Passage : Sentence Two : Similie/Metaphor Rule | published Wed, Apr 3, 2002 - 21:37 EST |
Create a rule that gives meaning to an Object1/Rel/Object2 instance where Rel points to "similie/metaphor action".
For example:
Forall all x, y and z
If consequence x and consequence y are in a "similie/metaphor action" relation modified by context z,
then similarites exist between consequence x and consequence y based on context z.
If the sentence were "Juliet runs like a deer." and there are two consequences:
1. If Juliet runs she moves from point A to point B quickly, and
2. If a deer runs it moves from point A to point B quickly
then both of these consequences would be similar based on say the context "gracefulness."
