I have close to four years of experience in system software development, most of which comes from my three year stint in the industry before joining the grad school in UB. In addition, I have also successfully completed three summer internships during my grad school.
Amazon.com, Inc.
I worked as a Software Development Intern, in Amazon Web Services, Seattle, during the summers of 2013, 2014 and 2015, accumulating close to a year of software development experience. During all three internships, I worked in the Amazon Redshift team, which develops a cloud based data-warehousing solution. Specifically, I worked on the database storage layers of Redshift's systems team. I worked on projects such as enabling LZO compression in databases (summer 2013), database table level backup and restore mechanisms (summer 2014), and backup management tools to handle disk failures (summer 2015).
NetApp, Inc.
Before starting grad school in UB, I worked as a Software Engineer in NetApp, Bangalore from 2011-2012. I worked in the development team of NetApp V-Series, which is a virtualized storage controller for third party storage arrays.
Cisco Systems, Inc.
After my Bachelor's degree I started my career in software engineering with Cisco Video Tech. Ltd. (formerly NDS Ltd.) and worked there from 2009-2011. Here, I worked on set-top-box middleware and device driver validation tools. I also worked in the NDS Research labs in Paris for three months.
