Components

The Windows implementation of the DRUID in its current state has four components. This write-up assumes you are familiar with the DRUID concept. Please look at http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/~rc27 for details and papers of the DRUID project.

  1. A Role Specification Module: At the start of each session, all users are presented with a tabbed dialog box that asks them to state upfront the commands and applications they will be using. The Role Specification Module helps the system administrator define the choices that different users will have.
  2. Session Scope: This module takes the output of the Role Specification module and displays to the user a list of choices that (s)he may have on a host system and outputs a text file with the list of applications the user is allowed to run.
  3. System Logger: This is a windows service that monitors all applications fired up by the user and logs it in C:\temp directory.
  4. Log Viewer: This module reads the System Logger logs and presents it in the appropriate manner.

Requirements:

Operating System : Windows XP with the .NET Framework installed.

Visual Studio .NET 2003 is required for modifying the source code.

All modules have an instructional video. Please install this codec for viewing those videos. Please view in Full Screen mode with a resolution of 1024 x 768
