Reach a point where the solution is saturated and then slowly lower the saturation point while limiting the rate of nucleation so that a few crystals can grow to a good size.

Many methods exist including:

- slow evaporation from a solution

Specimen crystals can be 0.2-0.4 mm on an edge.
